Passengers travelling via the national flag carrier—Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK853 from Islamabad to Karachi, protested when they were served with a substandard meal on the flight.
The flight was scheduled for early Saturday morning. The passengers lost their cool when they were served stale bread and undercooked chicken at the time of Sehri.
As per reports, passengers complained and had a heated conversation with the flight crew and protested the substandard food served on the flight.
The passengers said that such treatment of the travellers by the national airline which charges really expensive fares was nothing less than a bad joke.
They said that the flight from the capital city to Karachi costs around Rs.32,000 and for this much amount the kind of service the passengers are given is cruel.
The passengers have even filed a written complaint but so far there has been no response.
This kind of service when it comes to providing substandard food on flights is nothing new for the national flag carrier.
Some years back PIA’s flight kitchen also came under severe criticism when videos were leaked showing improper sanitation and lack of cleanliness.
A spokesperson of PIA informed that the complaint filed by the passengers is being looked into. He added that the passenger’s feedback is important for the organisation and that the matter was being looked into for confirming that whether all the passengers were served substandard food or some of them.
This plane had come back from its flight to China before it took off for the local flight.
