Passenger Train Services Suspended till March 31st

It has been decided by the government to suspend all passenger train services all across Pakistan from 25th March 2020 to 31st March 2020. This step has been taken to control the spread of coronavirus.

The Ministry of Railways issued a notification in which it said that those passengers who had advance bookings on suspended trains will be accommodated in other trains as per their choice on a priority basis once train service resumes in the country. If they decide not to avail the ticket, a full refund will be done after train operations are resumed.

In an earlier article, we did inform our readers that chances are high that Pakistan Railways will suspend its train services, as revealed by the Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed. The minister said that once all the trains on their respective routes get back to their destinations, the service will be suspended. He said that the official statement will be given once PM Khan approves it, and now the official statement has been given.

Tough times require tough decisions to be taken. And this is what is happening. From closing educational institutions to locking down Punjab and Sindh to closing international flights, now train services have also been suspended. This is a critical time as the outbreak of coronavirus has forced the government to take tough decisions for controlling this pandemic.
