Passenger Train Fares to Go Up from July 1

It has been announced by the Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed that the fares of passengers trains will be increased by 6 to 7 percent from July 1, 2019.

There will be an exemption from this increase for those who have already bought the tickets or are traveling with 50 kilometers, as per the details.

Sheikh Rasheed has openly expressed support for the charter of the economy saying that the opponents need to understand that there is no option except for the Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

The minister earlier informed that he spent Rs2 billion on six stations but it did not revenue even Rs6000. He said that he is striving to bring the trains back to the tracks.

Sheik Rasheed said that the construction of ML-1 to PC-1 has been done and they will also open the tenders for ML-2.

He stated, “We will submit our financial report after June 30.”

A committee has been formed to ensure that permanent status is given to all Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) employees.
