Provincial finance minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha said the government is currently collecting 97% of its tax revenue through electronic payments. This also indicates that e-payments are becoming a norm in Pakistani business sector and there is growing need for development in an electronic financial ecosystem.
Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has developed an online Business Registration Portal at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and at the inaugural ceremony of the portal, Pasha talked about the Punjab government achievements.
She said that Punjab government is committed to making Pakistan a developed country by ensuring an increase in growth rate focusing on security and energy conditions. The portal would provide an integrated environment for the private sector and ease of doing business in Pakistan.
The portal is actually developed for the Punjab Planning and Development Department in collaboration with industries department. The portal will provide an online solution to perform all business processes while improving productivity as well as business registration activities would be streamlined.
Chairman PITB Umar Saif while speaking at the occasion said, “Departments of Punjab including Police, Education, e-ticketing, Health, e-stamping, Property and some others have been digitized during the last five years.”, Providing more efficient and transparent environment for government bodies.”
