A Pakistani youngster was barred from entering a private bank in Karachi because he was wearing Shorts. The bank’s security staff felt that the dressing was inappropriate, thus he was not allowed to come in the bank.

The individual Babar Ali is a photographer by profession. He himself videographed the incident where the security guards of the bank said that he can not enter the bank due to his dressing. This incident happened at the First Microfinance Bank’s Landhi branch.

Ali posted the video on his Facebook profile. In the clip, he is asking the guards that why can’t he enter the bank and they are adamant that he just can’t because of his dressing. He shows his shorts and says what is inappropriate in this dressing.

Here is what Babar Ali wrote and posted on his Facebook Profile.

“So shameful and yet so funny. I wasn’t allowed to enter a bank just because I was wearing shorts and not full pants.
I still can’t believe it really happened with me and in a city like Karachi.”

The security guards felt that due to women presence in the bank, it is important that youngsters wear proper attire.

Ali said that it was the first time any bank barred him from entering just for wearing shorts. He said, “I have been to many banks with this type of costume but never faced such reaction. I will try my best to lodge the complaint against this discrimination.”

It is actually quite strange that you are not allowed to enter a specific bank because you are wearing shorts. Either we need to decide and say that you need to look a certain way if you wish to enter a bank or we need to stop such baseless incidents.
