Addressing a delegation Pakistan Tanners Association in Islamabad, the Prime Minister of Pakistan ensured that the government is taking measures to promote industries meant for value-added exports.
According to the PM, industries are slowly progressing and uplifting Pakistan’s economy.
The meeting members apprised PM’s moves to pushing industries, including the leather industry, and it is receiving demands from around the world. It is said that Pakistani leather is known for its high quality and low cost.
Pakistani leather, is no doubt, of high quality and has the capacity to export to earn foreign exchange. It is even said that this single industry can uplift the value of international brands by up to 300%.
It is also added that high-quality sheep, goat, cow, and buffalo leather is prepared sufficiently in Pakistan. However, it is seen that the Pakistani industry is facing some tough times in meeting its targets due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other reasons.
