In the year 2020, Pakistan will host the World Tourism Forum. It will be attended by 1000 foreign delegates. During a meeting of Prime Minister Imran Khan with the delegation of World Tourism Forum president Executive Board, this decision was taken. Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari, the Special Assistant to PM was also present.
The event that will be held for 5 days will highlight the scenic, breathtaking beauty of Pakistan that has huge tourism potential.
He revealed that 8 new tourist resorts will be developed in the Baluchistan’s seaside strip.

PM Khan said that different areas of Pakistan have a diverse scope that includes mountain and religious tourism. He said that government has taken effective steps to promote tourism, locally and globally.
He said that while promoting tourism, it is important to preserve the environment and uphold social values.
World Tourism Forum is basically an Istanbul-based organization that works to develop tourism around the world with its annual meetings.
Back in 2015, Pakistan welcomed 563,000 overseas tourists. That figure increased to 965,000 in 2016, 1.6 million in 2017 and 1.9 million in 2018.
