The FIFA World Cup 2018 trophy had been displayed on Saturday in an event in the provincial capital of Punjab—Lahore.

The trophy visited Lahore as part of its journey that makes sure that the trophy travels to fifty-one different nations and ninety-one cities across the various continents.

The trophy came in a special chartered jet along with a host of superstars including the iconic batsman like Younis Khan, the renown celebrity singers like Momina Mustehsan and Quratulain Baloch, along with the ex-French World Cup winner—Christian Karembeu.

The trophy would be staying in the city of Lahore for like a day—where it would be put up for public display.

The present trophy was introduced more than four decades back in the year 1974. The trophy is made of eighteen-carat gold with a malachite base. The trophy costs around rupees one lace fifty thousand dollars approximately, as per a research done in 2017. The trophy was made by the Italian company Stabilimentop Artistico Bertoni.

The FIFA World Cup would be held this year in Summers in Russia. Thirty-two teams belonging to different countries would be competing against each other for claiming the iconic trophy.

Germany would be fighting to defend its title that was won four years back in Brazil after a 1-0 win against Argentina, thanks to an injury-time winner from attacking Mario Götze—Midfielder.

The trophy’s journey would be ending in May later this year. Once its journey would complete the trophy would return to Russia.
