Pakistan would be sending its first citizen into space by 2022 with the selection process for finding the right astronaut. The selection process is planned to begin next year.
On Thursday Fawad Chaudhry—the Minister for Science and Technology tweeted that the selection process of sending the first Pakistani into space would start from February 2020.
50 people would be shortlisted in the process and then the list would then come down to 25 and in 2022 Pakistan would send its first person to space.
Fawad Chaudhry also said that this would be the biggest space event of the history of Pakistan.
India on Monday launched a rocket into space in an attempt for safely landing a rover on the moon.
China, the United States, and Russia are the only other countries to have sent missions to the moon.
