Pakistan has opened its first-ever transgender school to provide quality and vocational education to the community of Pakistani transgender. The school is scheduled to open officially on April 15m 2018 in Lahore.
The school named “The Gender Guardian” is to offer 12 years of full academic education from primary to matriculation level, later it is planned to expand to college level education.
Additionally, the school will also offer students technical education such as beautician, fashion designing, graphics designing, mobile and computer repair and the likes.
The founder of the School Asif Shahzad said the school is opened with the collaboration of an NGO, the organization is also aimed at opening two more schools one in Islamabad and one in Karachi.
There are 40 candidates that have already been registered to transgender community schools and they will soon be learning at the school which it becomes operational.
The schools will inaugurate officially at the in a ceremony conducted at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore’s Alhamrah Hall, several big names from the entertainment industry are expected to attend the event along with some NGO’s and government officials.
