Pakistan is observing Youm-e-Dua today for protection against the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit the country pretty badly.
As per the reports, the announcement of the observation of this day was made by the President Dr. Arif Alvi, yesterday, while he was speaking after an interaction with the country Ulemas in the federal capital.
He said that the strategy of combination prayers, preventive measures, and the safeguard of the weak segment of the society would be pursued in the second wave.
He also said that Pakistan has remained successful in terms of controlling the spread of the first wave of the virus.
Dr. Alvi appealed to the public to strictly abide by the issued SOPs in order to keep a check on the surging virus cases.
He also said that Ulemas have a significant role to play in spreading awareness regarding safety measures against the virus. He further added that they have also agreed to play an effective role in this matter.
The President also encouraged the media to play its enhanced role in spreading awareness about the virus among the masses.
