Fawad Chaudhry in a video statement indicated that a ventilator is a complex machine and that not many nations in the world have the capacity to make it.

The minister showed hope that Pakistan would be able to meet its own ventilators need and would also be able to export the equipment.

He said while congratulating Pakistan Engineering Council, scientists, National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) and technicians that when the first coronavirus case surfaced in Pakistan on the 26th of February, the country was not producing anything. He further added that within a few months, Pakistan has become capable of producing its own equipment.

He informed that the next 3 designs are also in their final stages and that after they are complete Pakistan would be among the few nations in the world that manufacture complex medical machines, which are in accordance with the European Union (EU) standards.
