Well, well, here is an interesting piece of news we would like to share with our readers. Pakistan has decided to export donkeys to China in order to boost its export. It will open a new avenue for Pakistan through which it can earn millions.
An official from the livestock department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) confirmed this news.
Worldwide, China has the largest population of donkeys while Pakistan has the third largest.
The official revealed that the department is focusing on developing donkey farms. It will help in boosting the exports. Quite recently a veterinary facility was inaugurated in Lahore. Furthermore, two farms were established in Dera Ismail Khan and Mansehra with the help of foreign collaboration.
The officials on the occasions disclosed that foreign companies want to make an investment worth $3 billion to start commercial farming of donkeys in Pakistan.
The present PTI government is planning to export 80,000 donkeys to China in three years’ time.
K-P livestock department issued a statement stating, “The proposed project will help improve the socio-economic status of donkey-rearing communities by improving the health and production of local donkeys.”
Donkey-rearing has its benefits as the gelatin made from donkey skin has been used for medical purposes.
