A team of researchers from Pakistan and China have made the announcement about the successful clinical trials of a herbal traditional Chinese medicine which would be the alternate of antibiotic medicines and are being claimed as a significant development in the pharmacology field, as per the reports of local media.
Professor Iqbal Chaudhry—the head of the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Science—ICCBS, University of Karachi mentioned in a press conference that alongside the Chinese experts here made the announcement of the successful clinical trials of Chinese herbal medicine in cooperation with the Chinese experts.
While sharing details of the clinical trials of the traditional Chinese drug in Pakistan Prof. Chaudhry said that herbal medicine has been formulated for treating the chronic chest infection.
He said that the herbal capsules were successfully tested at 212 patients suffering from chronic chest infection.
The drug has gone under a detailed trial process, within the prescribed scientific parameters and as per the international standards at the ICCBS at the University of Karachi, he further indicated.
The Chinese herbal capsules would be the alternate of the antibiotic medicines, as per Prof. Chaudhry.
