In a major leap to bring back the looted wealth, Pakistan-Switzerland governments have signed a memorandum of understanding which would make them exchange financial information on a consensual basis.
The deal would assist the local authorities to look for the Swiss bank account details of the Pakistanis.
The MoU was inked by Shahzad Akbar—the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability on behalf of Pakistan.
Shehzad Akbar was cited by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Twitter handle that the newly signed agreement would be implemented straight away and would be providing access to the critical financial information.
The high-level Pakistani delegation also exchanged the implementation on the bilateral exchange of information, other than the additional protocols and MoUs to advance the requests of Pakistanis on a preferential basis.
Earlier Iftikhar Durrani—the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Media said that the PTI government has got the plans of using social media for presenting a positive view of Pakistan. He added that social media platforms should be used for resolving the problems of the citizens.
This is the era of social media, and it is essential that the government and the public effectively make use of the platform. The tools and the platforms are there, important is that how they are used in a way that might prove advantageous for all.
