Pakistan Stay on Number 1 Position of T20 Rankings

Pakistan won the final T20 match on Tuesday against the West Indies team at the National Stadium of Karachi. Both teams were competing against each other in the T20 series of three matches. By winning the series Pakistan has maintained their topmost position in the T20 rankings.

Pakistan’s cricket team just nailed the match as they won the third and final match against West Indies by eight wickets. The match victory brought four points to Pakistan and has increased the team’s lead to 130 points on the Australian team, which is currently at second position four points behind.

The last day of the match witnessed many people in the crowd cheering not only for the home team but also for the West Indies players and team, sending messages of love and peace to the world.

Shaheen Shah Afridi and Usman Khan Shinwari were introduced in the final match of the series in place of two most thrilling attackers of Pakistan Muhammad Amir and Hasan Ali.

West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first. The visitors’ team came out as a strong team and performed well than the previous two matches by making a score of 153 runs and lost just three wickets.

Najam Sethi—Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) thanked the West Indies team for visiting Pakistan and thanked to the Sindh Government and Pakistan Army along with the fans who put their best efforts and attitudes for making the series a hit. He also applauded the team to maintain the number one position.

Najam Sethi informed that Lahore and Karachi would be the premium venues for any series. Sarfaraz Ahmed said that they are trying to play the best cricket and the kind of support fans are giving and if they keep on going surely indicates a very bright future.

He also thanked the crowd for making him recall the memories when champions brought the trophy home.

West Indies team captain—Jason Mohammed said that he led the team for the first time and it was a good experience. About his visit to Pakistan, he said that all the team has enjoyed the environment of Pakistan and the welcome and the crowd too was amazing. He added that the whole team wishes to come back to Pakistan for playing another match.
