In order to support the preventive efforts to fight against the coronavirus, Pakistan seeking another 305 million dollars in loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The officials said that the government of Pakistan had approved the concept clearance paper for seeking a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for emergency assistance and fighting against the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to the details, a meeting of the concept clearance committee was held on May 4 to discuss the financing plan being offered by the Manila-based Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the efforts to support the coronavirus emergency relief services worth 305 million US dollars.
The meeting of the concept clearance committee was chaired by Jahanzeb Khan—the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission which was also attended by a delegation of the Asian Development Bank led by the country director Xiaohong Yang.
According to the details of the loan, ADB will provide $200 million for social protection for the poor and vulnerable and $105 million for public health emergency preparedness.
