The authorities of the Pakistan Railways have decided to restore five more trains from June 1st under the designed standard operating procedures (SOPs) due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country.
According to the official notification issued by the Pakistan Railways, Sir Syed Express, Rehman Baba Express, Hazara Express, Karachi Express and Shalimar Express will resume their operations from June 1.
As per the details shared through the notification, only 60 percent of the passengers will be allowed in the trains as per the designed standard operating procedures (SOPs).
It is pertinent to mention here that earlier on May 20, the authorities of the Pakistan Railways has resumed its limited train operations across the country to facilitate the passengers during the Eid-ul-Fitr.
On May 18, the Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has announced to restore the train operations across the country from May 20 to facilitate the people.
The federal minister had assured that the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the federal government of Pakistan would be fully practiced in the train operations in the country. He further said that the resumption of the Pakistan Railways operations is important to facilitate the people during Eid-ul-Fitr.
