An announcement has been made by the Pakistan Railways Federal Minister Sheikh Rasheed that from next year onwards Pakistan will locally manufacture passenger coaches in its carriage factory.

While addressing the Pakistan Railways workers in Lahore, Sheikh Rasheed made this announcement. The Minister said that Pakistan will not import passenger bogies in near future.

He said, “I promise that no passenger coach will be imported from next year and all the passenger bogies will be prepared in Pakistan Railway factory.”

Furthermore the Railway Minister also announced that Rs.3000 allowance will be granted to each and every laborer of the carriage factory.

He added, “On behalf of the Prime Minister Imran Khan, I am announcing an allowance of Rs. 3000 for every laborer here.”

Radio Pakistan tweeted, “Local production of locomotives will also be started in the next phase: @ShkhRasheed addresses workers of #Pakistan Railways at Carriage Factory in #Rawalpindi.”

Furthermore has said that in the first phase 140 employees of PRCF will be granted the allowance out of 360 workers. Then in the second phase another 140 employees will be given the allowance and the rest will receive it in the final phase.

The minister said that he does not want to put burden on the national exchequer thus the allowance will be granted in phases.
