The Pakistan Railways (PR) has announced to reduce the train fares by thirty percent for the first and second day of Eid-ul-Fitr on all the passenger classes of all the trains.
As per the railways press release which was issued on Sunday, the decision was taken in a meeting led by the Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Railways—Aftab Akbar.
Akbar remarked that they feel honoured while providing service to the fellowmen—brothers and sisters and making their travelling experiences easy on the joyous occasion of Eid. He further informed that the discount is also available for advance booking.
Furthermore, the railways would also be running additional special trains on the evening of Eid for making the journeys of the ones willing to travelling convenient.
The reduced fares would provide some relief to a large population of working people who leave cities for travelling to their hometowns for celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr with their loved ones.
It is a bitter fact that passengers experience a lot many troubles as the Eid days come near because of the increased transportation fares. Even the small transport operators of minivans or APVs asks double fare from the passengers than the standard set fare.
Earlier Pakistan Railways offered a twenty percent discount in Ramzan for all the classes, express and mail trains. The offer introduced could be availed in the first twenty days of Ramazan. The Holy month package was announced on the directions of Minister Railways—Khawaja Saad Rafique.
Pakistan Railways has been engaged in activities regarding the department’s overall betterment and development which is a good thing—keeping in mind that many people of Pakistan use the train facility for meeting their intercity transportation needs.
