As per a recent development, Pakistan Railways has introduced a cross border transit freight train service to the neighbouring nations like Afghanistan.
Pakistan Railways have inaugurated the Goods in Transit to Afghanistan (GITA) Train on Friday.
The opening ceremony of the cross border freight train service is said to be one of the major accomplishments during the current calendar year, which has been referred as the “freight year” focused primarily at boosting the generation of revenue through the transportation of goods via cargo services.
The train would transit cargo from Karachi towards Kandahar and Chaman.
Other than decreasing the traffic flow from the major roads and highways, the addition of this cross border freight train in the current cargo fleet of Pakistan is not just anticipated to surge the generation of revenue but it is said to also assist in curbing the income-expenditure gap of the Pakistan Railways.
On the other hand, as per the latest federal minister for planning, Asad Umar has said that Naya Pakistan is not possible without Naya Karachi.
He talked about the development of Karachi and the issues of the people of the city while addressing the ceremony and said that Naya Karachi would be formed under the leadership of PM Khan.
