The Green Line Express fare has been increased by Pakistan Railways. Green Line Express is the only VIP train that runs between Islamabad and Karachi.
Now passengers would have to pay PKR 7,000 while traveling between Islamabad and Karachi and PKR 6,500 while traveling between Lahore and Karachi.
In a notification issued in this regard, it is said that the price of the ticket has been increased due to food & refreshments provided to the passengers.
So even though the passengers do not avail the facility, the additional charges would still be added. From April 15th, Monday, the new prices will come into effect.
For children traveling from Islamabad to Karachi, half the price will be charged. From Lahore to Rawalpindi or between Hyderabad and Karachi PKR 1300 would be charged. A 5% discount will be availed on 2-day advanced bookings.
It is pertinent to mention here that in April last year the fares for Green Line Express were reduced by 10%. But at that time the dining and refreshment facilities were cut down to adjust the prices. Now the prices have been again increased as the facilities are being added.
