Pakistan Railways has announced 33 percent reduced fare prices during the Eid holidays, apart from the five special trains would also be the part of running trains during Eid holidays.
Railways Minister has approved the Eid package, reduced fare would only be available on the Eid day and the next day means for 2 consecutive days. Pakistan Railways will attach extra coaches/boxes to the train in order to meet the demand and control congestion during the holidays.
Railways minister Khawja Saad chaired a meeting in this regard where all these things were approved, there are different Eid trains that will run on different days. The first Eid train will leave Karachi on June 23 to Peshawar. The first train will also going to touch stops including; Multan, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Malakwal, Lala Musa and Rawalpindi. The Second train will be cruising from Quetta to Rawalpindi touching the stops Khanewal, Rohri and Lahore. The third one will leave from Karachi to Lahore via Faisalabad and Multan. On top of that the two special trains would be going from Rawalpindi to Multan and vice versa.
The minister said while talking to the meeting, “Railways Eid operations would provide travelling to 500,000 commuters”. He further added, the number of railway passengers have been increasing 15 million per annum.
