Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), an international organization conducted a survey in which countries were ranked on the basis of their generosity. In the World Giving Index, Pakistan was ranked as the 69th most generous country in the world among 128 countries. India lacked behind at 82nd position.

The surveys were conducted by CAF over the past decade from 2009 to 2018. 1.3m people were covered in the survey globally.
The USA came out as the top most generous country in the world followed by Myanmar, New Zealand, and Australia. Ireland, Canada, UK, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia also made to the top 10 most generous countries in the world.
The questions asked in the survey included if they had helped a stranger, given money or volunteered for healthy cause in the month before they were being interviewed. The result were than compiled to make a list of the most generous countries in the world.
CEO of the CAF John Low in a statement said, “We are once again reminded of the kindness and generosity of people across the world as they dig deep despite uncertain times and significant geopolitical unrest to give their time and money to help others.”
Adding, “We know that there is no single solution to success. It is about hard work, shared values and knowing in ourselves the inherent benefit to all of us when we work to improve the lives of our friends and neighbours, and strangers who need our help.”
