As per reports, the government has decided to adopt the European and American styles surveillance methods to keep track on the foreigners visiting Pakistan.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry—Secretary, in a recent meeting of the intra-provincial committee discussed the issue of Afghan students that are enrolled and studying in the different universities of the nation.
He discussed these students at the committee, upon his briefing the national security advisor said that there should be a system that needs to be adopted to keep a check on the expiry dates of these students’ visas and they should be sent back to their home country on expiry of their visas.
The secretary informed that they are closely keeping a check on the situation and pondering—there are chances that even the visa policy might be changed soon.
Khawaja Asif—Foreign Minister, said during the meeting that Pakistan should adopt the tracking procedures being used by the American and European countries for keeping surveillance records of the foreign visitors in the country.
He added that such system is essentially needed to help in keeping track of the activities and movements of the foreigners.
This decision is in line with the verdict launched by the Interior Minister—Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to suspend the issuance of on arrival visas to the foreigners. This decision was taken to avoid any irregularities within the database.
The interior minister during a high-level meeting held at the Ministry of Interior directed the participants to take strict measures for the implementation of rules and regulations in the ministry and in all the departments related to it.
He also instructed the Interior Ministry to revise and update the visa rules and regulations.
