Pakistan is still ranked 6th most dangerous country for women: Violence against women

There is still no change and reduction in violence against women in Pakistan during 2018 despite passing bills inthe parliament.

Pakistan is one of the countries which is ranked as the most dangerous country for women because of the level of violence against women. However, Pakistan was ranked as the 3rd most dangerous country for women according to forbes in 2011.

There is a significant improvement in the violence reduction in 2018 as compared to 2011, according to dailytimes, Pakistan was ranked 6th most dangerous country women because in June 2018.

According to a survey conducted by Thompson Reuters earlier this year, “Pakistan is the sixth most unsafe country for women. Sexual violence,non-sexual violence, human trafficking and discrimination remained some top ofthe list sources of violence inflicted upon women.” Tribune reported.

According to Express Tribune, there were several cases that were reported this year inflicting violence on women, several cases have gone unreported as well.

Pakistan has still improved its position regarding violence against women but it was shocking to see the two major world economies, champions of democracy and human rights the United States and India were ranked 10th and 1stin violence against women respectively. Violence against women is not just honor-killing;it also includes healthcare, discrimination, cultural traditions, sexualviolence, non-sexual violence, human trafficking and some others.
