In collaboration with Argentina, Pakistan has shown interest in resuming its Antarctic program and embark on more research expeditions.
Similarly, it has been agreed between Pakistan and Argentina to expand their bilateral trade by enhancing the interaction level between the countries.
According to the report, the representatives of the two countries discussed restarting the Antarctic program and increasing bilateral, regional, and multilateral issues of mutual interest during the bilateral political consultation.
The consultations from each country were led by Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Additional Secretary (Americas), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, and Ambassador Jose Luis Perez Gabilondo, Undersecretary Foreign Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Argentine Republic.
On behalf of the Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the additional secretary invited the Foreign Minister of Argentina to visit Pakistan at his ease.
The importance to expand bilateral trade and improve the relationship between the 2 countries at every level was stated by the additional secretary. He gave a suggestion to hold a virtual meeting of the Joint Trade Committee in the first quarter of 2021.
He also repeated the offer to export locally manufactured ventilators to Argentina at the same time recommending that 70 years of relationship between the two countries should be celebrated in an appropriate manner.
