As per a recent statistic, Pakistan has got the 3rd largest population of donkeys in the world.
According to the shared details, the approximated population of donkeys in Pakistan is more than 5 million.
The Punjab Livestock Department has unveiled that Lahore only has got more than 41,000 donkeys.
The government of Punjab has also established a “Donkey Hospital” where treatment is given without any cost to the donkeys.
The animal price has increased in spite of the high population of this animal species in the country. The donkey breeders tell that the prices change between Rs 35,000 to Rs 55,000 and could bring its owner a total of Rs 800 per day.
Some time back, there was also a news report that Pakistan was intending to export donkeys to China after making an investment of 1 billion rupees in its “Donkey Development Program” for attracting Chinese investors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
China is the country where donkeys are greatly valued, as their skins are used for the making of medicines along with other stuff.
