Pakistan has launched first Russian Language Radio channel

On Pakistan’s Independence Day, 14th August 2018, Pakistan has launched the first online Russian language Radio channel. It will connect the South Asian nations with the Russian speaking people.

The 24/7 broadcasting of “DND Radio” will connect the Russian speaking listeners, promote cultural development, provide awareness about social & political developments in the area and entertain the people through programs and music.

People can have access to the online Russian radio channel on their smartphones, tablets or computers. Dispatch News Desk (DND) News Agency has introduced DND radio, being the same company that launched the first ever online Russian Newspaper and News Agency in 2018 with its team spread over South Asia, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

Syed Ali Zafar the Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting congratulated DND News at the launch of the new Radio Channel. He said that it through the channel the Russian speaking listeners will have access to Pakistani content. It will enhance connectivity and harmony between Central Asian and Eastern European states

He said that in the last six years DND News Agency has played an important role in promoting a positive image of Pakistan among Central Asian and the Eastern Europe States.

Secretary Ministry for Information and Broadcasting Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera also commented on the launch of DND Radio saying that Pakistan has diversity in its culture which will be promoted through this radio channel. It will link Pakistan’s culture with Central Asian and Eastern European States. He said that Pakistan’s government is working tirelessly to promote a better image of Pakistan and such initiatives like the launch of DND Radio will help in changing the viewpoints of the Russian speaking listeners.
