Pakistan Customs has banned protocol for the travelers traveling from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. Customs Additional Collector Sanaullah Abro has issued a standing order banning protocol. He said that luggage of all the passengers would be properly inspected. There will not be any exceptions.
The customs staff at the Karachi airport has been informed about the order. If they fail to comply with it, they will be penalized and might be suspended.
Earlier in the week, the government of Pakistan banned VIP Protocol at the airport that is given to influential figures by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said, “We have decided to strictly implement the decision to provide equal opportunities to all travelers without any discrimination. We have seen that influential people used to seek the assistance of FIA officials at airports who accompanied them to promptly clear their luggage.”
It is important that everyone is treated equally in every field in the State of Pakistan. With the New PTI government in the country, people are full of hope & faith anticipating a Naya Pakistan. Banning VIP Protocol is a step taken by the PTI government to promote equality. If a common man can step into a line for luggage clearance so can the political figures, legislators, judges, journalists, army officials and bureaucrats.
