Pakistan Custom to Introduce Fast Cargo Clearance System.
In order to ensure fast and hassle-free clearance of export and import consignments , Pakistan customs is launching the International Authorized Economic Operators (AEO).
This idea was revealed by the customs while briefing the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA) , this Wednesday.
As per the official. the working on the draft has been started for the AEO certification, which will allow people for the rapid and smooth processing of goods which are imported or exported on a priority basis.

Customs collector Saeed Akram said that those companies which are working for the AEO certification are trusted and known all around the globe.
AEO is basically a party which is involved in the international movements of goods no matter whatever the function those has been approved by or even if it is on behalf of a national customs administration abide by WCO or equal supply chain security standards.
Saeed Akram further mentioned that the certificate holders include; importers, exporters, consolidators, brokers, airports, manufacturers, carriers, distributors, intermediaries, warehouses, ports, integrated operators and terminal operators.
AEO allows all the certificate holders to self-seal export goods and also 24-hour clearance at all the airports and seaports said the Customs Additional Collector Sheeraz Ahmed.
These holders also have choices to select the location for the clearance/control of the goods within the premises of AEO.
Up till now, 83 countries have the AEO program operational and further 18 countries are considering to join this program including the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
