The Foreign Office Spokesperson—Mohammad Faisal took it to Twitter and said that the consulate would be restarting its operations following the assurances by the Afghan government that the diplomatic office would be provided with the needed security.

He wrote on Twitter that all the visa applicants in Jalalabad and the neighbouring areas within the Jurisdiction of the Consulate General could now apply for the visa with the Consulate General with effect from Monday that is the 8th of October 2018.

The Foreign Minister—Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday said expressed his concern over the matter of the closure of Pakistan’s consulate in the Afghan city of Jalalabad and was given assurance by his Afghan counterpart of a positive result in the matter.
