Pakistan Closes Chaman, Torkham borders for two days

Pakistan has decided to close the friendship gates on Pak-Afghan border crossing points. The crossing points at Chaman and Torkham will be closed for two days.

Dr. Muhammad Faisal the Foreign Office Spokesperson in a statement said, “The crossing points have been closed upon Afghanistan’s request.”

According to the spokesperson the decision has been taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming parliamentary elections in the country. The crossings will remain closed unless for any emergency cases.

It was also confirmed by the Foreign Office during the briefing that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan will attend the ‘Future Investment Initiative’ conference. It will be held from 23rd October to 25th October.

On the special invitation of King Salman bin Abdel Aziz PM Imran Khan will reach Riyadh on 23rd October. Imran Khan will take part in the first day of the investment conference that will host a variety of people from all walks of life including businessman, stakeholders, corporate giants, and investors.

The press release stated, “PM Imran’s participation in the conference signifies our solidarity with the Kingdom in its efforts to become an emerging hub of international business and investment.”
