On Sunday, both the countries Pakistan and China agreed on a multi-billion ML-1 (Mainline-1) Railway Project.
The agreement was signed by the Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan and the Prime Minister of China Li Keqiang after the delegation level talks. The agreement was signed at the Great Hall of people a location in Beijing.
The minister for Pakistan Railways, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed referred to this day as a notable day in the history of Pakistan Railways.
He says that as per the project’s vision double railway tracks would be laid between Karachi and Peshawar which would help in reducing the travel duration as the trains would then be travelling at the speed of 160km/hr.
This project has been signed thirteen years back.
Apart from this agreement, both the Prime Ministers discussed over some issues, which also included matters of mutual interest, ties between Islamabad and Beijing and regarding the overall regional situation.
Government officials and Ministers were a part of the Pakistani delegation and they accompanied the PM in the meeting.
