Pakistan Cement Exports were up by 9 percent in May 2018 as compared to the previous month of April. According to the data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan has fetched $20.78 million by exporting 446,741 tons of cement in May.
Pakistan had $19.147 million in exports in the previous month of April by exporting 404,898 tons of cement.
This represents the increase of 8.53 percent month-on-month basis and 10.33 percent increase in terms of quantity. However, the 10.33 percent increase in quality should have fetched more revenue for, the revenue was down as compared to the quality sold.
The year-on-year basis has seen a whopping increase, the earnings in May 2018 increased by 39.9 percent. The country exported $14.863 million worth of cement and 283,193 tonnes in the quantity which was up by 57.8 percent in terms of quantity.
The revenue fetched was also down as compared to quantity increased; the major setback came from Rupee depreciation which is still affecting the country’s exports as well as imports.
Pakistan’s cement export revenue from July 2017 to May 2018 valued at $206.533 million by exporting 4.189 million tonnes of cement up from $219.812 million on 4.166 million tonnes during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year and its corresponding period. This represents an increase of 0.6 percent in terms of volume but the value fell by 6 percent on YoY basis.
