The people of Pakistan are observing ‘Youm-e-Takbeer’ today (Tuesday) to memorize the historic nuclear tests on May 28, 1998.
On this historic day, Pakistan becomes the seventh nuclear power of the world and the first in the Muslim world after demonstrating its nuclear capabilities by conducting nuclear tests at Chaghai in Balochistan on May 28, 1998.
Pakistan showed its nuclear capabilities as a response to the nuclear bomb tests conducted by India on 11th and 13th May of the same year at Pokhran in Rajhasthan in India.
Those nuclear bomb tests by Pakistan made its defense unconquerable and stronger. At that time, Nawaz Sharif was the Prime Minister of Pakistan, under whom the nuclear tests were carried out as major powers from around the world urged him to avoid the nuclear tests.
On a special day, prayers were offered in the morning for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan, the supremacy of the constitution of the country, and eradication of terrorism from Pakistan.
