According to the Global Firepower’s 2019 military strength ranking report, the Pakistan Army has been ranked as the 15th most powerful military in the world. The top four most powerful militaries in the world are of the United States, Russia, China, and India. France, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom, Turkey, and Germany stood at 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th position respectively.
The Global Firepower ranks the military forces of 137 countries on the basis of their manpower, population, geography, weapon diversity and the state of development. The countries that are nuclear power do have an added advantage.
Countries that have a naval fleet but do not have diversity get penalized. The NATO countries do get a bonus as due to their alliance, resources are shared. Landlocked countries are not penalized for not having a navy.
Over 55 factors are examined in the Global Firepower ranking and a PowerIndex score is created for each country.
The ideal PowerIndex is 0.0000 which is not possible for any country. However, the closest was of the United States military which stood at 0.0615. Pakistan’s PowerIndex is 0.2798 and India’s is at 0.1065.
