PIA has reduced its fares by 25% for two days of Eid, 2nd and 3rd September. The reason for it is that not many people travel during Eid. Similarly, Shaheen Airlines is also offering discount offer up to 35% from 2nd to 4th September on all domestic flights.
Airline spokesmen Mashhood Tajwar said, “There is usually a low rate of bookings on flights during Eid holidays. The offer [25% discount] would stimulate operations on the days.”
To a query, he replied, “Why should we give the discount if flights are full or overcrowded?”

“This is a new niche market,” he said, that it would aid in not canceling the flight if there is very low booking.
Moreover, he added that there are low booking during Eid as passengers have to more fare on Eid days previously. This is changing now.
On flights to/from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Faisalabad the discount offer stands.
The spokesperson further said, “If the offered discount does not flare revenues, it would at least arrest a drop [in the revenue], if any.”
