The prices of Pak Suzuki cars and bikes have been increased. Although there has been a decline in the cost of imported parts, there is a continuous fall in the sales during the first five months of the present fiscal year. The rupee has strengthened against the dollar, still, Pak Suzuki has hiked the price of its cars and bikes.
Prices of multiple models of Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd (PSMCL) have increased by Rs. 49,000-90,000 effective from 1st January of next year.
The new price of Alto VXR is Rs. 1,398,000. It has been increased by Rs. 90,000. The new price of Alto VXL is Rs. 1,598,000. It has been increased by Rs.80,000. The new price of WagonR VXR id Rs. 1,605,000. It has been increased by Rs. 65,000. The new price of WagonR VXL is Rs. 1,695,000. It has been increased by Rs.70,000. The new prices of Swift DLX M/T, Swift DLX A/T, and Jimny are Rs. 1,995,000, Rs. 2,955,000, and Rs. 3,990,000 respectively.
Other than Cultus, prices of all models have been increased. The 660cc Suzuki Alto price has been increased multiple times.
The PSMCL spokesperson Shafiq Ahmed Sheikh said that Pak Suzuki is suffering from losses in all four consecutive quarters. Because of this Pak Suzuki has been increasing its prices even though there has been a substantial decrease in cost.
The rupee has also been strengthening against the dollar from Rs.164 in June to Rs.155 currently. But car sales are on a decline. Sales have dropped by 44% during 5MFY20.
