Railways Minister Railways Sheikh Rasheed launched a train tracking mobile app. But the app called Pak Rail Live is not working properly. It seems that the app was launched in a hurry and it wasn’t ready for the public use yet.
The aim of the app was to allow users to track trains in time and get the estimated time of train arrival, its schedule and other details.
According to the Railway IT Director Fahad-ur-Rehman, the app has launched just recently. With time, more trains will be added to it and it will be improved.
Rehman said, “Presently, people are facing problems in checking for their desired trains due to the new software.”
The users left their feedback on social media and on the app stating that there issues regarding the live location tracking app of different trains. The app did not show live locations of many trains, which is a major issue.
It is pertinent to mention here that almost 30% of the app’s work is still pending. This is why travelers are facing issues in the app.
Approximately 30 per cent of the work on the app is yet to be finished
Earlier the then Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique launched an app that allowed the users to book their train ticket online. That system was termed as a “paperless ticketing system” so it was easier to use.
