The Chinese Smartphone maker Oppo has started teasing with a new camera technology in its upcoming smartphones. According to various online leaks, Oppo is reportedly working on hybrid lossless optical zoom allowing smartphone users to take images with 10X zoom.
You normally see this much optical zoom in compact cameras mainly; this means users would be able to take clear zoomed images of people several feet away from them. Some reports have also suggested that the new optical zoom technology will be featured in Oppo’s upcoming flagships including Oppo F19 and Oppo F19 Pro. However, Oppo has not officially confirmed these reports as yet.
Oppo is not alone developing this technology, Chinese giant Huawei is also reportedly working on new optical technology in smartphones. Huawei’s new P30 smartphone is expected to come with the new optics technology which is expected to debut by the end of July.
