FBR and Customs have placed strict conditions under the baggage rules for the passengers after banning 11 items and restricting the specific amount of of foreign currencies while making foriegn travels or travelling towards the local destinations, as per the reports of local media.
The domestic and international travelers must have complete knowledge of the banned and the barred items that are not permitted under the Export Policy and Procedure Order which sets limits for the international currencies, whereas, the customs has categorized items passengers should not be carrying during the flights.
The rules bars a child of the age of 5 to travel abroad while having $1,000 or equivalent sum of foreign currency once or $6,000 in a year. The persons between the age of 6-18 could carry $5,000 once or $30,000 during a year, whereas the passengers more than 18 years in age could carry $10,000 once or $60,000 in a year.
Under the Export Policy and Procedure Order 11, items that have been banned while travelling internationally or locally includes gold button, platinum, silver button, gold jewellery, precious stones, antiquities, narcotics and psychotropic substances, Pakistan currency more than Rs.3,000, counterfeit products, toxic chemicals & precursors, radioactive substances, arms and ammunition, pets, pirate CDs.
The authorities have also set up a Complaint Redressal Cell (CRC) on the special instructions of the PM at the Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
