OGRA to Issue Licenses to New CNG Pumps After 12 Long Years

OGRA has lifted the ban and intends to offer new licenses to CNG filling stations which would be given to run CNG stations on the RLNG.

Good news for new CNG pump owners; OGRA has lifted the ban and intends to offer new licenses to CNG filling stations.

According to the body, the new licenses would be given to run CNG stations on the Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG).

In January 2008, after reviewing the situation of power and gas to was decided to hold up new CNG licenses.

Later in April 2011, the government imposed a moratorium on the provision of new industrial and commercial gas connections across the country with immediate effect for a period of six months.

Later, the government approved certain proposals with respect to the CNG sector in September 2011 under which OGRA issued marketing licences to the prospective applicants.

It is further said that in January 2013 the government again stopped the issuance of new provisional licenses for setting up CNG stations.
