The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has suggested a Rs14.37 per litre surge in the petrol prices from the 1st of May that is tomorrow, as revealed by the sources on Monday.
As per sources aware on the matter said that OGRA has forwarded a summary on increasing the petroleum product prices to the petroleum division.
The final verdict would be taken by the ministry of finance after making a consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In the proposed summary, OGRA has proposed Rs4.89 per litre surge in the diesel prices, a hike of Rs7.48 per litre in kerosene oil and Rs6.40 per litre surge in the light diesel prices.
On the other hand, the Sindh government has announced a province-wide holiday on May 1. The holiday has been announced because of Labour Day.
Labour Day is celebrated across the world for celebrating the spring season and the workers. Different countries celebrate the said day on different dates.
