Over 300 officials from agriculture department in Pakistan are provided with smartphones loaded with modern software applications. The applications would provide the officials with the information they require to perform certain tasks. The devices are equipped with applications which will provide detailed pest situation reports on various corps with guided plans, said the agriculture department in a press release.
The mobile applications would provide detailed information and knowledge to officials about pest invasion on various crops, measures, and control mechanisms to tackle the problems.
The department would take further initiatives under the information received through the smartphone applications.
The agriculture sector is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and needs serious measures to improve the infrastructure, technology, and government initiatives, several business corporations are taking initiatives such as Telenor to enable the future growth of the sector. But that’s is not enough to cope with the challenging environment and increasing demand, the government has to go an extra mile in promoting agriculture in the country.
