Nvidia has released a new GeForce driver update that fixes a number of problems – including crashes in connection with Red Dead Redemption 2. In addition, Nvidia confirms with the update the improved GeForce RTX 2060 with 12 GB in advance.

The GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB has not yet been officially announced – but the new GeForce driver update now names the graphics in the list of newly supported systems. According to rumors, Nvidia will introduce the improved Turing graphics card with doubled graphics memory next week. This is basically the most important change for the GeForce driver update that has just been released. According to the company, this update is primarily intended to fix bugs.

The new version is 497.09. The update is already available from us in the Nvidia download area. We have linked the driver again at the end of this post. As you can read in the short update description, the update addresses a problem that could lead to crashes in Red Dead Redemption 2 / Doom Eternal for some users. In addition, some users reported that they suddenly saw extreme contrasts on YouTube while playing the video.

Only the added support is new

In addition to these annoying bugs, there were also a few other, less serious problems that the new update is intended to fix. Among them are problems with Adaptive Vertical Sync and with Optimus notebooks with 1440p / 165hz panels. The release notes provide more detailed information on this. The list of real innovations, on the other hand, is short – only support for the GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB and for the Chorus and Halo Infinite games is mentioned.
