Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Daughter to Take Action Against the Ones Stealing Her Father’s Work

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan indeed was one of the greatest musicians of time that world has acknowledged. The musician was not only famous in Pakistan but also managed to leave a mark internationally with his soulful music.

In a press conference, organized at the Lahore Press Club, the legendary musician’s daughter—Nida Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan mentioned that she has got plans of taking action against the individuals who have copied her father’s songs without seeking prior permission. She said that after her father’s death she has got all the rights to his music. She added that she would be taking strict action against the ones who are using her father’s songs and would also be taking them to the court.

She stated that a local music company by the name Khokhar Productions has faked her signatures and have deceptively taken the rights of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s music. She has sent them a legal notice and has also asked them to pay a compensation.

Many of the songs of the legendary musician have been used in many Bollywood movies which have been sung by his nephew—Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. When Nida was asked whether she would also be taking action against Rahat with her accusations, she said that she would not be going against him, as he is like a brother to her. She further added that many people on social media have rumoured that she is married to Rahat, however, the truth is that she is not married to him and he is happy in his married life.

She said that she would only take action against the ones who have used her father’s music incorrectly and have claimed it as their own.

Nida Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan further informed that there are many songs of her father which he never got a chance to release, however, she would soon be launching them.

As per Nida, Indians who are copying her father’s work would also be sent a legal notice.
