Not a single Pakistani killed in stampede in Karbala: Ministry

According to the statement issued by the spokesperson of Foreign Office, there is no Pakistani among those killed in a stampede in Karbala.

The spokesperson, in a statement, said that the Embassy of Pakistan in Karbala is closely monitoring the overall situation of the incident. He also said that sincere condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

According to the details of the incident, as many as 31 pilgrims had died in a stampede at a major shrine in the city of Iraq, Karbala as they marked the holy day of Ashura on the 10th of the Islamic month Muharram ul Haram.

The details said that as many as 100 people injured at the shrine around 100 kilometres south of Baghdad and the toll was not final, the spokesperson of the health ministry, Saif al-Badr said.
