On Wednesday the government has taken the decision of lifting the ban on the purchase of vehicles for the non-filers for the locally manufactured automobiles that are up to 1300cc capacity.
The announcement was made by Asad Umer—the Finance Minister while he was presenting the Economic Reforms Package in the National Assembly.
He informed that presently the non-filers had no such option of buying cars, adding that the new reforms package would be permitting the non-filers to buy locally manufactured cars that are up to 1300cc.
He said that besides facilitating the non-filers, this step would also be giving a boost to the automobile production and would further be developing the businesses of all the sectors related to the automobile industry.
But the minister announced that for the promotion of tax culture and for boosting the non-filers to come into the tax folds, the automobile registration withholding tax would be further boosted by 50 percent.
The minister added that the government was giving encouragement to people to become the tax filers and to take advantage of the different incentives provided and available for the tax filers.
This step taken by the government is good as it would be giving non-filers a chance too of owning their cars.
