The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) has ordered the petrol pump management not to sell petrol to the motorcyclists if they are not wearing a helmet.
According to the spokesperson of City Traffic Police (CTP) Faisalabad, the CTO has taken this step keeping the best interest of motorcyclists in mind as it is the important safety measure which has to be followed and it saves bikers from head injuries in case of any unfortunate road accident.
Adding the details the spokesperson said the traffic police has launched a campaign cracking down on bikers not wearing a helmet during their journey, the police department has fined roughly 100,000 people imposing a total fine of Rs20,217,600 on them.
The CTO has pushed the drive even further by asking petrol pump owners to join the cause and play their part. The CTO has also asked the head of various departments and educational institutions to help traffic police to achieve desirable outcomes from their efforts.
The CTO wrote letters to various departments including CEOs of various educational and health departments, SNGPL, DDO, MD (FWMC), DG (FDA), GM (PTCL), VC (GCU) Faisalabad and others to contribute their efforts to implement the helmet drive.
No petrol without helmet drive has been started in various cities of Pakistan in order to ensure the people’s safety and strict traffic laws in the country. The drive started a week ago in Rawalpindi and other cities of Pakistan.
